I bought the mag today... i thought that everyone who bought the magazine got a mini pet like the promotions in america of the desroyer and the grey giant and asura! Im furious i wasted £6 if you are thinking of getting the magazine its a waste of £6! i got a crappy demo of bioshock which my graphics card cant handle and a magazine that says:"If you weren't a lucky winner, well life sucks eh? but you could always buy another copy of PCG" im outraged at the cheek! ill never buy the magazine ever again never mind the same issure for another chanceto get a mini pet that we should be able to get in EVERY magazine!

so out of the 1000 minipets, only a few will even get to a GW player.
thats sad considering there are thousands of mini destroyers walking about america -
why is anet being so stingy to europe?

Ooooh.. Very Naughty! Not the way it was put on the GW site.
Thanks for the heads up, money stays in wallet a little longer.
So from the PCGamer forum that means both UK mags are doing the same lottery style thingy. Total saving £12x3children means I have £36 to spend on more beer, I`m still happy then.

Oh boy, I got a naga, also bought a destroyer for 30k in game so all good for me. The thing is the magazine that I bought hasn't got the mini in it but my co- worker also bought the mag and he doesn't play GW, he plays wow and he bloody got the card. How fair is that?
Anyway I promised to buy him lunch today after he gave me the card. And no I'm not selling it.

I don't know anyone else who gets the magazine... so I have absolutely NOBODY to potentially leech from.

I must say this has to be the absolutely worst possible idea on the face of the planet. I don't buy computer magazines, haven;t done in years and can think of many other things to waste £6 on, (£12 as my wife also playes GW),
The only reason for me to buy this mag and the PC Zone one is to have the opportunity to get a minipet I couldn't otherwise.
From the GW site i thought we would have a competition entery to fill in, and at least that way i would have a good chance of getting one,
The has to be the worst marketing ploy from Anet, though a damn good one for Future publishing. Anet must just want to destroy all the codes for the mini's making them even rarer and more expensive in game.
And I thought it was their position that mini's were not meant to be an economic item

How many of the pets do you suppose will actually make it into the game?
How much of the Magazine's reader-base actually PLAY Guild Wars?
I'm betting there will never be a Vizu in game because some moron somewhere has seen the card, thought nothing of it and binned it. I'd pay some serious cash for one of those.

I had a spare Asura key from PC Zone, which I've duly entered in exchange for a destroyer minipet. Note that the swap is limited to those who already added an Asura minipet key on their account.
From the past two miniature giveaways by PC Zone; I think it's unlikely they will follow in PC Gamer's utterly thoughtless promotion, unless the limit is imposed on them by A.Net/NCSoft.

Yeah hate to think that mini Vizu would end up in the bin somewhere, because some guy bought the mag just for the Bio Shock demo and has no idea about the mini. It was just a dumb luck in my case really, then again if my friend didn't know that I play GW the naga would end up in the bin as well.
I already saw the shiro'ken mini on sell in LA Eng D1 last night as well. You wouldn't want to know how much he was asking for it.

The Shiro'ken was pretty much what I was buying the mag in hopes of getting. Stupidity was the name of my game apparently.

The mag itself is so-so as well, there's 1/4 of a page for the mini pet details and 2 pages GW:EN review, it's got 82%, the reviewer seem to like it. If anyone have the magazine, check out his necro skill bar. lol

Isn't it even worse than that? Looking at the official announcements, it sounds like there are only 1000 minipets for the whole of Europe, distributed among the nine participating magazines in different countries. If that's true, then PC Gamer UK is only giving away its share of the minipets, not a full 1000.
